The whole point of these extra photos is to see both the new and old cultists together and see if they're a cohesive fashion even if it is a rabble.
And I think they turned out alright. Perhaps a drybrush of grey on some of the debris on the newer ones but otherwise they all fit together OK.
There was a lot more blue on the Genestealer cultists, which make sense as it's their affinity to the Tyranids that brings about the colouring, but it does help tie both the red and orange fatigued group together.

Loving these guys Dave. I have always enjoyed your style. It's awesome to see it applied to different types of models. I can't wait for a gene stealer cult codex so you can really utilize these fellas!
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice but I'm just enjoying the fact I painted them for no reason, I guess that's an interesting thing to learn just to paint for fun [although the fact they were on my list was a stealth driver to get them completed].
DeleteAnd the ability to just say, 'yep these are good enough let's move on' it's invaluable when I'm beset by so many obstacles slowing progress. They're also really similar to the scouts I'm doing so it's made them easier to crack on with.
Then it's back to the Tacticals, got to break the back of these, just got to get through the power armour...

ReplyDeleteNot at all but rest assured the Dark Angels are in hand and appropriately it's those Scouts you gave me that are getting the attention. Progress has been swift, all I need to do are some more metallics highlights, verdigris, skin tones and some highlights on the armour and then it's special FX, base and varnish! A few nights work I think for 50pts [not including upgrade] but they look really cool and the camo cloaks look fab,
