Unfortunately this means the only way the Acid Spray could fit on this model is by building up the weapon mounting points on the Tfex and also extending the feeder pipes on the Rupture Cannon. That seemed like too much effort. So this will currently either be Rupture Cannon or Fleshborer Hive, with the Tervigon Proxy as Acid Spray and Fleshborer. I may look to get some more Acid Spray weapons so it'll fit this model
I still think this is one of the best Tyranid models, you get so much bang-for-your-buck with it. Cheaper than the newer big models and probably much better in the new edition, thanks to the update to Monsters rule about firing in combat. I just need to clean up the base, prime, basecoats and washes and then it can go on hiatus alongside the other Nids I have as fillers between those other tasks I really should be finishing first.

He's a BEAST! Should be fun to paint.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, my first Tervigon was a horrible experience, the second one not so bad. As I'm so familiar with the scheme now it should be easy and perhaps a comfortable distraction from those other things that are a challenge to paint.
DeleteI have had a lot of success with a Tfex and Exocrine in my backfield. Terrific models, though it has been impossible to get an Exocrine in Australia for ages now. I have had to use my Scythed Heirodule as a proxy.
ReplyDeleteI just can't reconcile paying more for a smaller model with the Exocrine and obviously the Haruspex looks so much better. You can also pick up Tervigons and Tfex on ebay. I think this one was no more than £25. I end up feeling relieved not to have to look at exocrines because they priced it out of my budget.
