This thing is quite hefty now, thanks to all the slate. I had to add in some Milliput in places to blend in the Hive Nodes then used tile adhesive/grout for the uneven ground before I added all the basing material. Then it was my usual Red Planet BASE!
Obviously the Hive Nodes still need picking out alongside the Wraithbone chips but this is where I usually pause on the base. The Tfex remains unglued so I can get access underneath to paint. I've a number of thoughts about this: I recall how much I hated painting the first Tervigon, then I think how comfortable I am painting my Hive Fleet colours compared to anything else on my To Do list! I'm also once again reminded how cool this model is, how big and also how much model you get for your money.
All those reasons create a pretty heady cocktail of motivation to throw some more paint on it. For now the Base is done and I get my Big Build Basing Big Galactic Stamp of Approval!
