Adeptus Titanicus - Cream battlefield assets, terminal pins and markers - TO DONE! 🔴⚪

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I've been #PaintingWarhammer on my Adeptus Titanicus - Battlefield assets, terminal pins and markers and no, it's not deja vu! Again... We had another set of battlefield assets and I thought they'd look cool in cream and bronze.

Also, Liam needed a Titan head marker that matched his basing style, rather than the one I did on Red Planet BASE! ðŸ”´

I did want to go with more Blessed Verdigris 🗽 for these but forgot just how much I'd done on the red assets

Still, I really like doing these and getting to explore different colours schemes for them.

It's a shame you don't really get to use more than a couple of them per game.

Also, Otty made his own Eldar themed ones. Which is as it should be, but it does mean that our current game is only using one of my sets.

And even then I put a Void Shield Generator in the wrong place so my Titans are getting ZERO benefit from it. Liam is very grumpy with me! 🤣

I am very pleased I managed to match his basing though. It's not a 100% perfect but so close it's almost weird trying to work out why it's not spot on.

Arc templates. I wanted something that was a bit more 'steampunk'

And I just love these ones so much'

The patinaed bronze, cream and then the red glass inserts, fabulous.

Now, I did not do the terminal pins. As annoying as it is that we have another set that is unpainted they have all bee cut from the sprue. Finding a way to paint them all individually was not a task I was willing to do when I've so much else I could enjoy painting instead. So they are left for now, we've more than enough.

Great Big Chrome Stamps of Approval according to my spreadsheet this is worth 13 points. Plus a 5 point terrain bonus, it's a bit cheeky under the circumstance. But, the premise of the bonus is you are doing something for the benefit of everyone, not just painting your own grey pile of shame. These are terrain pieces and they are for other to use, so it qualifies. Therefore, this brings me up to 186 points for the season so far.

Terrain is everything - Middle Earth Osgiliath Ruins - Viaduct and Ruin - TO DONE! ⚪

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I know it's been a while but I've actually been #PaintingWarhammer on some MESBG terrain I was lucky enough to get for Christmas. These were all 3D printed sets on Amazon that my wife and my mate Pete got for me. Alternatively you can pick them up at www.qp3dwargames.co.uk The last group of pieces, the viaduct and a ruin.

I know the 'soil' is a bit weird here. But it hides the print lines and adds a bit of colour.

Again the yellow lichen, but I did add a bit of orange in places as the image search did show variety in the lichen to be much warmer colours. I do like it here, even if again there's a lot.

I shaded the grass a bit with green wash to add variety.

It's a bit clumsy, the wash didn't spread and blend as much as I expected but I do like it.

The corner ruin.

I should have put some flowers on the mound now that I look at it.

Some white Kingsfoil, but I only had the mixed flowers from my Halfling Blood Bowl Team which would have been a bit too fancy.

There are still a few pieces from QP3D I could add to the set but I think I'm done for the time being.

We do have an unpainted Elven tower as well that needs attention. Liam 3D printed it years back and it's just sat there doing nothing. I may ask them for it...

Great Big Chrome Stamps of Approval according to my spreadsheet this is worth 20 points. Plus the 5 point terrain bonus, but I am applying that just once for the whole Osgiliath Ruins project. So, this brings me up to 168 points for the season so far.

Battle Report - Adeptus Titanicus 05/03/26

Afternoon and we're back again playing Adeptus Titanicus in Otty's shed. This is week/turn 4 over a 5 or 6 week period! 🤣

When we left it our Reaver in front of the Warlord was in the red on its reactor. The Plasma Cannon Warhound was leaking plasma and at risk but a good couple of repair orders might just save our bacon. What actually happened is that everything that needed a repair order failed their command checks. Both Liam and I rolling 2s. Our appalling dice sticking with us.

We managed to immobilise the Eldar Reaper/Reaver, thanks to some Thermal Mines - a strategic asset we actually got to use in the game! The damaged Warhound taking even more damage having been charged, but then ducking out of the combat and fire arc. It's squadron mate moving to the centre.

With so much critical damage the Warhound was vulnerable to even Knight small weapons fire and blew up, damaging the Reaper and barely scratching its twin. As the game went on I think we played this catastrophic damage incorrectly but the rules are so difficult to follow. We spent so much time going backward and forwards. There's literally a section in the advanced rules that refers you to the basic rules, which then immediately refers you back to the advanced rules. It is so frustrating.

So our bad luck was further compounded by Otty and Ben's good luck. This roll was four 6's and a 1, but whichever weapon fired had re-roll 1's and wouldn't you know it another 6! In balance there was very little damage to whatever it hit but what can you do? At about 10:30 in the evening both Liam and I were utterly deflated. It felt like it was midnight and although I expected to suffer early on when we restarted the fact we'd weathered that storm only to get pummelled for still standing was sapping our will to carry on.

Then the immobilised Reaper managed to clip the back of our Reaver with Shuriken Cannon [Gatling Cannon] fire. It was just enough to tear through the leaking reactor. A catastrophic failure that exploded in a 9" fireball. Having been berated by Liam from the very beginning for the poor position of the VSG I knew the first thing I had to check. Lo and behold the VSG was vaporised in the explosion. I literally couldn't see for laughing. Luckily there were two paramedics in the room because my chest hurt too.

But it didn't end there. The chain reaction took out an Eldar Questoris knight, damaged the Reaver and Warhound, which blew up too.

This explosion then blew up the Reaver [thanks to this insane roll] whilst also damaging the two Revenants, destroying one.

As the nuclear fireball dissipated all that was left was a Lancer Knight and a revenant that has managed to secure its lost crew for 20 Victory points. Plus the multiple VPs for the engine kills. I think they were on 42 or 44 points.

To go from such a low, lose so many engines but in such a rewarding why was exhilarating. We were so close, convinced we'd got 37 VPs ourself so all we needed to do was either destroy the revenant with the crew. The Immobilised Reaper, or the Phantom to win the game. We chose the Reaper as it was already damaged and just needed some leg shots. But the Volcano Cannons added 4 plasma, taking it into the red, but it was going to be the last turn anyway and ultimately the Reaper survived. I suspected it would end with an anti-climax after such a roller coaster.

Then we looked again at the scores and it turns out I'd totally overestimated the Eldar units we'd destroyed in the meltdowns and we barely got over 20VPs from the damage caused. So we were far from being in contention.

What had been a painful experience became hilarious and exciting. 4 weeks of gaming, struggling with the rules but ultimately having fun. We need to find a better way to play the game though as it's far too difficult and awkward to play. We all want to give it a rest but we know that that will just mean it's as difficult to play again down the line.

We'll see what happens, hard, hard work, but thankfully rewarding at the end. The dice G.O.D.s may not have favoured us, but they certainly put on a show when it most mattered.

Terrain is everything - Middle Earth Osgiliath Ruins - Corner Ruin - TO DONE! ⚪

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I know it's been a while but I've actually been #PaintingWarhammer on some MESBG terrain I was lucky enough to get for Christmas. These were all 3D printed sets on Amazon that my wife and my mate Pete got for me. Alternatively you can pick them up at www.qp3dwargames.co.uk The 3rd piece of terrain - the 'Corner Ruin'. This again comes in two pieces, the staircase section and the first storey ruin.

Now this seems to make a lot more sense to keep together. It definitely feels like a centrepiece model where a duel could take place leading up the stairs, like in Highlander,

That said, it can be separated and I think there is enough surface area to still fight on top.

I did consider adding magnets into the stonework but it seemed over kill.

Again, a lot of yellow lichen. it could have done with some green instead perhaps.

But I do actually like the very weathered result. Even though I can see a lot of the original zenithal primer.

This both pleases me, because it justifies the effort of doing it in the first place. But, also angers me as it feels like I didn't do the subsequent washes and highlights that the process demands of me.

I am compelled by the process, damned if I do and damned if I don't. Which is why ultimately I just need to say it's done and move on.

The first storey can easily be used as a separate piece of terrain.

Again, I like the result.

Can't wait to get to play on it.

My only regret is these can't form part of my Armies on Parade this year because they're unofficial and I didn't create them 😩 Still, nevermind.

Great Big Chrome Stamps of Approval according to my spreadsheet this is worth 20 points. So, this brings me up to 143 points for the season so far.

Old Stuff Day 2026

Morning #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity it's #OldStuffDay 2026. Quite a few years ago now warhammer39999 wanted to join a movement to rediscover lost gems from the world of hobby blogs. To choose one of your own blogposts that you're most proud of, or may not have got the attention it deserved or any thing that may warrant some necromantic blogpost bothering. On top of that you were to share blogposts from other bloggers which you thought deserved the same spotlight of attention before they were returned to their dark nightmare infested slumbers.

Here's some great posts from other bloggers. Apologies to the many great bloggers out there I haven't included, you do sterling work too, these are just the ones I was reminded to remember over the last 12 months [or remembered from previous Old Stuff Days]:

From The Warp

For Old Stuff Day I usually I go back to the blog that inspired me most, Ron Saikowski's From the Warp. He hadn't posted for years but had left it online as a resource that was always worth checking. But it turns out even that has been removed now. Instead let's look at Eternal Hunt's review of From the Warp, that itself is 13 year's old

Hobby legend Dave Taylor also gave Ron a platform 15 year's ago to discuss charity work within the hobby:

So I don't know what Ron is up to now, but I hope that he's well and that his legacy lives on, even if his blog no longer does.

DED 'ARD

DED 'ARD covered Old Stuff Day back in 2011, it's nice to see the community joining in the event, even if it was 15 years back

sho3box

I'm obviously a Goblin Town fan and sho3box's own foray into Goblin Town is a pretty cool overview of the faction and the style is pretty cool too

And while we're at it Lead Plague's guide to painting Blackstone Fortress Ur-Ghuls that inspired the Goblin Town figures:
LEADPLAGUE: Ur-ghuls - Blackstone Fortress

Eye of Error

I recall Eye of Error's Arbiter Station House with fondness, but this guide to creating it is really useful if you're into terrain.

Dark Future Gaming

Nard's Tyranids were a 40k forum staple back in the day. Bright pink with creamy bony carapaces and fluorescent green spot colours. I don't know where they share their work now, but Dark Future Gaming did a spotlight on them back in 2012 [good times].

Incidentally, DFG did move to a new platform here: Dark Future Games but haven't posted for 2 years 😢

Monkey Chuka

Another blog long overdue. Monkey Chuka used to have some crazy ideas and great hobby. I particularly liked these converted drunken Stormcast for Warhammer Underworlds

A Butterfly's Hobby Tally

XarfaiEngel is always so supportive of my blog, it's worth check out theirs. Again, terrain is a passion of mine and this beautiful blacksmith's forge is well worth checking out for tips or just the joy of seeing great hobby.

Old School Gaming

Marc has a great post about Armies on Parade [and you know I'm all for AoP]. His friend Sergeant Waz went onto win with the amazing Tyranid infested crashed Thunderhawk board. But there are plenty of other inspirational parades to look at too.

My Own Blog

I was thinking of this battle a while back. It was such a fun game with my Ravenwing bikers careening up the motorway on-ramp:

You may never have clicked on the Community tab at the top there but it does have a wealth of stuff, acknowleding some of the community events I've joined and a record of my own Hobby Season badges. But also ALL the links to my own Old Stuff Day posts.
Confessions of a 40k addict: Community

I still love this guide to joining in with Armies on Parade. A couple of links look broken [I don;t know why], but if you click on them they do open the correct image.

Lastly, when we game at Otty's Hobby shed we often reflect and think about our friend Scott. Occasionally we light a candle or incense in memory, while I try my hardest not to roll the dice in the dice tray just like he did.

It reminds me of these posts where I thought about my gaming crew and subsequently a year later reconnected with them and Scott.

Hopefully something to learn from these posts, but try thinking about your own hobby crew, the times you've shared and the fun you've had together - good [old] times.
