Adeptus Titanicus - Titans in Manufactorum - TO DONE! 🔴

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer on my #AdeptusTitanicus or #LegionImperialis Titans and they're TO DONE! All the remaining weathering, battle damage, lenses and special FX.

I have to say I am happy with the results. I'm still not wholly convinced on some of my decisions but they're ones I can live with and ultimately a lot of the work inbetween the last update has gone some way to mitigate my concerns.

For instance, I had my reservations from the build, about using this head [because I wanted them all to be different]. And yet, I prefer it to the other one, which I previously preferred.

Once again reminding me not to judge a model until it's finished.

And I've gone back to that point that I was so proud of the colour scheme and somewhat fearful of the highlights and I needn't have worried. Everything else I've added since has created a story - whether it's the battle damage, or the heraldry, even the additional highlights create a depth of character that was not there before.

I need to be confident in my process. I may not be expanding my repertoire and discovering some colours still are a challenge but I should be confident in my ability to work it out.

Even when I have doubts the end result is never rubbish and always something to be proud of.

Yes, some decisions may not be the optimal choice but they are always liveable - because I never scrimp on the effort I put in.

That shows far more than 'I chose the wrong decal for the carapace'.

No one else is going to say that.

It's also great to see it alongside the first Reaver and although there is a difference in the yellow, it's so minor I'm not sure anyone else would notice. And the grey is very similar, which helps equalise everything.

And as a quartet they look awesome. I'm especially enjoying the lore of the Legio Gryphonicus which coincidentally does have a passion for Reavers.

It means I've got the right tools for the job.

The Warhounds are pretty epic too.

I'm not sure I have any reservations about them whatsoever.

I had some slight issue about going with the basic pose on the blue one but now it's done I don't know why.

The only remaining concern is not with these Warhounds...

it's with the first two I painted and that's only because I left their Griffons completely white.

I thought they would be too hard to paint blue, but now I've done these two new ones I may have to go back and fix them [when I can be bothered].

Such an amazing pack of Warhounds though.

And here we have the full maniple.

Although it might actually be two - an Axiom Maniple with a Warlord replaced by a Reaver,

and a Venator Light Maniple.

There's still a hope for a Warlord at some point though, and some Questoris Knights.

Which brings me back to the two Lancers who were sidelined - as batching these War Griffons became easier without them in the mix. The Lancers are still high on my list TO DO, but we'll see what takes my muse next...

Another set of Bloody Great Big Bloody Stamps of Bloody Approval!

    1. Cheers Tim, indeed they're ready to go. I didn't think I'd start back on the 2 Lancers so quickly but they've already muscled their way onto my painting table. So more to add perhaps...

    1. Thanks DAM. Liam was adamant I should get a Warlord before this but I was much more interested in quantity than quality. Even if the thought of painting this many titans filled me with dread. But look at me go! Much less traumatic, almost a breeze this time. Maybe that Warlord might still pop up...

    1. Ta Mike, super chuffed I did not get overwhelmed by the project. A significant amount of effort and trepidation at the start could easily have derailed it, but thankfully I got it done!

  4. Of course magnets solve a lot of these issues, but also cause some of their own. At least that aspect of the build was just a mild inconvenience.

We hope to have a game soon. Liam's Titans are gorgeous, he used his airbrush so he managed to get some amazing results real quick. We've gone with completely different approaches but decent results. Ben has an Ork army too, but it's relatively small. And Otty has some 3D printed Eldar that Liam made for him, as well as old metal Wraith constructs, but they're not painted yet. We have a MESBG tournament at Warhammer World next week, then they're focusing a bit on Star Wars Legion [not me] and Otty is building his new shed. But when that's all done we'll get some games in for sure!
