Adeptus Titanicus - Titans in Manufactorum - White pics

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer #AdeptusTitanicus. Here are the pics on a white background for you to enjoy.

All the angles and some close-ups which help show off some of the detailing I added.

Although far too many pics to comment on everything so I'll only chip in where it's relevant.

I loved using the Armiger numbers here - massive numbers always look cool, even on tiny models ;)

I put off doing the Void Shield glow for so long but they came out really well. Thinned down Bahama Blue craft acrylic with Nihilakh Oxide and then thinned white for the extreme highlights.

The green eye lenses added a dash of colour too, as well as the rust streaks.

The odd extra decal on the leg to add more detail.

I threw on that campaign badge on the knee. Don't like it, should have done a blue heraldry knee-pad. Maybe I'll come back to it in the future.

It was missing the knee joint endcap but I used a Imperial Knight decorative cog to achieve the same thing. If I get more Reavers I may do it again. More big numbers on the leg.

And on the missile launcher. You can also see how I covered up the white griffon decal with blue and orange to create a colour legio badge. I wouldn't want to do it on all of them, but it worked here.

The chainbalde.

I added a kill marking decal on the chainblade, not the best choice but it needed something.

I spend so much time agonising over these extra decal choices and half the time it makes no difference. As with the knee pad where it doesn't work it doesn't matter, I can't be bothered to change it at the moment so won;t bother.

Warhound, love the red of the guns alongside the blue of the VSGs and yellow and grey of the titan armour.

Plasma weaponry - not my best plasma effect but I was trying something new and it's alright.

The three titans together.

Alternate weapon option on the Warhounds.

And there we go - the question remains will I go for more and if so will it be more of the same with the starter set or a Warlord?

Adeptus Titanicus - Titans in Manufactorum - TO DONE!

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer #AdeptusTitanicus. And here we go, years in the making and they're done! Finally.

The amazing thing is I want to paint some more, although I am 100% convinced I would still take 2 or more years painting them as well! 😂

As I've mentioned they're not quite what I was going for with the mottled pattern. And yet I absolutely love them and that's why I think another starter set would be awesome.

Although a Warlord would also be cool, but I think I just love robots. Haven't even played the game so I'm struggling to justify getting more.

I mean he looks really cool

When you see the white pics you'll get a closer look at his decals. I overpainted his in the correct colours, though it was a bit of a nightmare which is why I left the Warhounds white. Also, you get to see the other weapon options.

The plasma isn't my best, I tried a different technique with Nihilakh Oxide

I also did the bronze differently on muzzle, mainly with washes.

But I really like it and might try that again on something in the future.

I'm less convinced on the actual barrels of the guns. They seem a bit uninspired  but they'll do for now.

I love the las weapons and the green eyes.

The more I look at them the more I want to add to the force.

Just look at the red glass, not the best I've done but I love it anyway!

And here they all are alongside my already finished Cerastus Knight Lancer. I've got the other Lancer on the go and will be tickling away at him here and there.

And with that a GREAT Big RUSTY Stamp of Approval. Although it probably deserves much more than that!

Adeptus Titanicus - Titans in Manufactorum - Last of the Greys

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer #AdeptusTitanicus. It was May last year when I last posted on these, there was just something about the grey that meant given any opportunity they were easier to overlook.

Ultimately I finished a lot of other things instead, but I've had them for perhaps more than two years so really they need finishing.

Luckily I was able to approximate the grey on the left to the one on the right that I'd already got close to completion.

The thing is quite often a project has 'it's time'. The moment when you say 'yep, these are getting done now'. So I'm fully motivated to complete them.

And not just the Warhound, the Reaver too, which felt like even more of a chore, given the extra leg and toe plates.

Now it's not perfect and it's certainly been a much more convoluted and time consuming process than I envisaged, but I'm beginning to like the results even if they're not quite what I was expecting.

I'm thinking if I was to get some more I'd want a bit more blue on them as it feels overwhelmingly grey at the moment.

The yellow alone feels not enough to break up the colour palette. Of course there are weapons to add too and they have a few splashes of colour, with the las-blasters and plasma weaponry but I'd enjoy adding some more on the carapace and enhancing the use of yellow too.

It's worth remembering I had delayed painting these because I was missing the Legio Gryphonicus decals. Liam had them prior to lockdown [another reason it took so long to get them].

I added a bunch of other decals on the back of the Warhound.

And the sides - I used some old Imperial Fist decals to get the perfect red circle, filled it with yellow and then added the War Griffon decal on top. A small amount of wash to dull it down. I did find out there were higher detailed Forgeworld decals available for £10 but then realised I've enough plain white ones for my entire future maniple so why spend any more money on them?

#DeathGuard #KillTeam Poxwalkers - White pics

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer Death Guard Poxwalkers. Here's the white background shots, they all seem a bit dark, which is where Camera360 had a decent enhance feature to lighten everything, but then they'd all look like paintings rather than photographs if I'd persevered with that app.

Anyway, you at least get to see the back views on these too.

It's really weird as I write about these because it was a while back now and I have no recollection how long they took or how laborious it felt.

It's great that they're just done, but I do wonder if I was ever so inclined to have more Poxwalkers would I feel that this amount of effort was worth it or not?

Sure, I have the Gellerpox Infected to do at some point but they are much more diverse models, with only a few similar to these.

I imagine I'll start them at the same time, work on bits concurrently and then focus.

Ultimately I just love what I painted here. These will definitely be models I return to down the line and will be surprised at the results I achieved.

And the best thing is I know they are far from perfect. They are insanely busy to look at but that feeling of overwhelming satisfaction, despite their flaws is a gift beyond measure.

I've always wanted to paint my armies and I've always wanted to paint to the best of my ability. Sometimes compromises have to be made, but in sacrificing quality how will I ever progress as a painter, and in sacrificing finishing models how will I feel satisfied. To be able to balance the two - quality and delivery and yet still feel like I've improved as a painter, or even just comfortable with whatever flaws there are is the high point of my hobby exploits.
