Imperial Knight - Armigers in manufactorum pt.8 WHITE PICS ⚪

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer And here we have the pics on white background for the connoisseurs.

And I had a bit of fun making a 360° video, challenging myself to 'remove' the lazy Susan.

Or at least obscure it. I'll try doing some more but they're slightly time-consuming. If I can find a quicker process I'll commit to it, but for now it's just playing around.

I've always preferred the bigger knights, but these little guys are beginning to sway me

Absolutely the right choice to switch to red bonding studs on the Headhunter.

Also, I'm really happy with the decision to have it's chain cleaver red on the outside and yellow/black on the inside. So you get a more consistent profile.

Whereas, you can just get that flash of colour on the inside.

One of the reasons I love the Chaos Knight aesthetic is their dangly things [usually chains]. But I think they really work with models that have height.

Which is why I like it's ribbons [knightly favours?].

Gun shield shows it has campaign honours from Legio Gryphonicus and my Dark Angels.

View of the base.

I had funs adding a variety of cogs to the shoulder pad. It's cool to play around with patterns like this. Somewhat reminds me of how Dr Faust's 'Tri-Knight' was painted.

As usual, I have some doubts on the pose but I still love it.

In fact I'm overwhelmed by how these came together. Started in January, bases down by mid February.

Started them in earnest mid-March and completed April 9th!

Just about a month's worth of work, all in.

Just stoked how my efforts have come out.

Ands I just love how the decals add to, like that blink and you'll miss it, warning badge on the gunshield.

Not to mention my BCF - Best Chevrons Forever.

Such a great scheme for me with my love of yellow and black together.

Throw in the red, bronze and verdigris, it's a feast.

Here I swapped out the Warglaive armament for Helverin's autocannons.

The Headhunter had some additional spotlights added to the cannons.

Useful in low-light conditions for illuminating his prey with infra-red light.

The lights were spare from the Revenwing upgrade sprue.

There's a little protruding stud on the cannon that his perfectly attached to.

Although I've always preferred the Warglaive, and especially in these poses, but I am surprised how great the Helverin's look. The blessing of magnets.

Alongside one of my recent Helverins.

Now to get some games in.

Hope you enjoyed the showcase. Now onto the next project.

Imperial Knight - Armigers in manufactorum pt.7 TO DONE! 🔴

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer on my Imperial Knight Armigers. It's amazing how quick these come round sometimes. But once again I run the gamut of how to showcase my Red Planet pics. As Ektacam doesn't work on my phone anymore and Camera360 is potato-camming my Velvia pics I took the retrograde step of installing Ektacam on my old phone!

So, it's a weird hybrid photography session. But they're done. While I flip-flopped during construction and WiPs between which Armiger was my favourite, I can't choose now  - which is as it should be.

The Headhunter had such a great pose, but I was underwhelmed with the lack of chevrons - solved. Then the white studs looked odd - solved, by making them [and the embarkation handle] red, which balanced the existing use of red and it just looks cool.

The groin plate is still debatable fitting the theme but it's hidden away so I think I can live with it.

The ribbons turned out pretty cool, just a bit disappointed I didn't get to use the other spare banners on the running Armiger, but they wouldn't have worked.

The decals on the gunshield were not what I had in my head, but I managed to put just enough on to be happy with the results. It looks archaic and mysterious, so that will do.

Super happy with the the finished result.

And the 'running man' [Ser Marathon?]. I think I reconciled the white mask will be the preferred choice.

I think it just made more sense than the yellow one. It's not glued in though, so I can always swap it.

My only concern is how much his leg flexes when I pick him up. It's pinned, but even so it does not feel quite as solid as I'm comfortable with. I may need to up my storage/transport game with these now.

He looks mighty cool though and that gunshield adds something. Now all I have to do is finish off the small weapons. They just need blessed verdigris and varnishing, but they're super fiddly which gives me no incentive to get them done.

Alongside one of my 'recent' Helverins. They deserve a full army photograph perhaps. My Armies on Parade board only had the Cerastus, 2 Questoris and 2 Armigers. I can add the newer Armigers and my older Freeblade [as Canis Rex] now.

Another Bloody Great Big Bloody Stamp of Bloody Approval!

Imperial Knight - Armigers in manufactorum pt.6 - Decals

Afternoon #WarHamFam and #WarhammerCommunity I've been #PaintingWarhammer on my Imperial Knight Armigers. The Headhunter scheme was not sitting right with me.

Without the yellow and black it was almost like House Taranis, and they don't need anymore self-promotion.

But even adding the chevrons in I wasn't happy. The white studs seemed like an additional element that was confusing things. But the decals were a lot of fun to add on the back shoulder panel - a full on cog-mesh

I love the numbers, naturally it should be on the other shoulder but the studs prevented it, but it just fits alongside the house symbol.

The running knight worked well. One of the Armiger number decals had an underline I could remove so it would just fit in the chevron. I loved it on the Helverin I did so had to repeat the effect.

Rear panels with cogs, shaded so the decals don't look to garish.

Some additional details on th ebase have been finished.

Now for head choice. I'm not entirely sure if I like this head, but I hadn't used the faceplate and wanted to paint it up.

I much prefer this faceplate but wanted to try a bit of yellow and black on it.

But I think it somehow disappears into the model.

Whereas, the bonewhite forehead helps this one stand out and so far all the Armigers and the rest of the knights have this touch. It works on the Headhunter too.

These are a couple of additional 3D printed chain cleavers, so I can make my Helverins up as Warglaives. I had to bodge the arms a bit. But I wanted checks on the side, with the plan being to fill the checks with kill markings.

This other one only has half checks, with the other half chevrons.

While this one is wholly chevrons on one side. They all need blessed verdigris though, as well as a final drybrush highlight before that. The separate weapon options are a killer

Believe it or not, the next update is TO DONE! Who'd have thunk. Just need to find some time to get the pics done and write the post. I've really enjoyed painting them and aside from the weapon options and some small contradictory doubts about progress it's felt like a blast. I wonder if I can transfer that mindset to some similarly sized big flippin' robots?

Taking into account I loathed painting my first lot of Warhounds and Reaver. Now I have 2 more Reavers, Warhounds and Lancers to do... [for a game I;'ve never played]. Time will tell.
