Not going to say a huge amount, I'll let the pics speak for themselves mostly.
As you can see I added a bit of blue [fer't Dad's] on the axes, to bring it back toward the official Iron Regent heraldry. I'm not entirely sure it's any better.
But the legs are my favourite element I think.
The void shield glow worked out really well too. Just some thinned Bahama Blue, then Nihilakh Oxide and then white.
Here we go, lets get the second wone done.

Lovely weathering as usual, and nice decal work.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting on the decals for the second one now. It takes so long to do, it's bizarre. For anyone thinking it's a shortcut they're wrong!
DeleteGreat job!!!! This is super cool!
ReplyDeleteCheers Wachtmeister, glad you like it.
DeleteLove how the weathering works over the decals. The effect really sells the battle damage over a once pristine paint job.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, because without the damage it just looked odd and too prominent. I have to accept that I do use the battle damage to hide the mistakes. It's an accusation that's easily cast, and I am guilty of it. But that's because it looks a lot better with damage, than without! 😎
