I'd decided to make the 'cliff' brown as Otty's boards have some similar coloured cliff edges. Also, more grey would have made them a bit too bland.
Like I say, perhaps too much yellow Lichen. But these have already had so much more effort put into them with the added flock and tufts that any 'mistakes' are easily overlooked.
I also painted brown what looked like wooden beams inserted in the rocks, to break up the grey a bit.
I used Vallejo Game Effects Dry Rust as it acts a bit like contrast for highlights and shading. it also adds some texture. So it can be interpreted as wooden support beams, or rusty iron reinforcement.
I'm not sure what they're supposed to be, but it gave me and excuse to add some more variety.
I suspect when I play with it I'm unlikely to stack the second storey as in the first picture. Instead it'll be the second one as MESBG just doesn't need that verticality [looks at the 4 storey tower I've already completed... 😏]
But this corner piece, small as it is would make a great additional piece of ruined terrain.
MESBG doesn't need a lot but this set can be maximised to deliver enough to make a battlefield interesting.
I particularly like the tufts on top and although there is a lot of yellow lichen on this small piece I do think it registers well as what it's supposed to be.
And the other side is just as compelling.
A Great Big Chrome Stamps of Approval according to my spreadsheet this is worth 20 points. So, this brings me up to 143 points for the season so far.
