'nids part 376 - Leviathan Tyranids - TO DONE! 🔴

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I've been #PaintingWarhammer on my Leviathan Tyranids and they are TO DONE! There's a couple of reasons for these - they're on my list, they make up most of a combat patrol an I hope the bulk of Leviathan will be this year's Armies On Parade in-store.

But I do love the Neurotyrant and Neurolids and I'm still utterly convinced they look the right scale for Adeptus Titanicus/Legions Imperialis. Some home brew rules would make them playable I think.

I love them against the red background - the orange glowing brain works so much better.

It's not perfect in real life but these pics look pretty cool to me.

I'd love to have loads of these. I now they're practically spore mines but they're so much cooler looking and look great next to a Warlord Titan I have on my painting table.

There's just something about a lot of these sculpts that makes the scale seem subtly different compared to older Tyranids.

Sadly he's not actually in the Combat Patrol but I have seen him used in a few battle reports and he has such an impact for Shadows in the Warp. I quite fancy using him at some point, if we ever player 'big' 40k.

Of course that means I need to buy a codex and that might just get one use before the next edition renders it obsolete! 😂

Anyway, the Winged Prime. I was never convinced of the pose.

Luckily I have 2 more from the introductory Combat Patrol magazine to play around with the pose and try to do something more 'airborne'.

Obviously we're talking about something that will happen within the next 5 years, if I'm lucky!

Von Ryan's Leapers are next.

Cool little fellas, they could be in Titanicus, just short of a Warhound in height.

They have so much detail to paint though, so I'm not looking forward to the next 3, but we'll see.

The Barbgaunts too were hard work and then additional 5 will be yet more of a challenge.

But they look so much better than I expected they would.

I love the 'rainbow' of colours these guys create.

I will be really excited to see 10 of these though, and 6 Leapers. They'll all look so impressive with the Screamer Killers, Norn Emissary, my VSG and a few of the more recent monsters and the Warriors too, they've never seen a parade in their new finery.

There are a few things to include alongside just the Leviathan models, so it should be a fun display.

And another bunch of Great Big Wooden Stamps of Approval.

    1. Lots still to do to finish of the Leviathan 'nids. The Termagants and Neurogaunts will probably be soul destroying!
