I think in the UK most people call them Biros as Lazlo Biro was the inventor of the ballpoint process that BiC eventually licensed to use in their pens. Somehow, like calling vacuum cleaners Hoovers [though currently Mr Dyson would wish otherwise] biros seems to have stuck as the name for a crystal ballpoint pen, which is what you will need.40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-40749871467513125712012-01-06T07:21:32.791+00:002012-01-06T07:21:32.791+00:00You might want to mention that a Biro is a pen; I&...You might want to mention that a Biro is a pen; I've never heard that term living in the US.MasterSlowPokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10374534974590757158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-57342444201686894022012-01-05T12:12:54.925+00:002012-01-05T12:12:54.925+00:00Thanks for the tips oink. The paint job eliminates some, if not all of your concerns [still some gaps :( ]

The templates aren't ready just yet. Usually I build it, share the WIPs shots, in the process get to iron out the issues and once complete post the STC. It seems the interest in this will require me to supply plans early and trust everyone will be patient that it may not be 100% upto my usual standard. I will get it done soon.40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-47627071945860742092012-01-05T09:24:13.400+00:002012-01-05T09:24:13.400+00:00I love the idea. But I think that textured card is holding you back. it's thickness and stiffness means that you are getting lots of exposed edges which (imo) are unsightly. (I've been putting together some basic foamboard tutorials if you are interested)

I think this could be improved if you were to use simple cereal packet card over the foam board base. I'd use a textured spray to add the texture...

finally, I assume that you've got templates but can't seem to spot teh link to them in your post. Any chance for them?Luis Nieveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16104268520391688183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-30592217134071173732012-01-05T05:19:30.476+00:002012-01-05T05:19:30.476+00:00A very nice idea!
