Then it's Warplock again, followed by Balthasar Gold, which is quite warm. The next highlight is Valejo Shining Gold which is probably a big shift towards a lighter gold and then some extreme highlights where I've mixed Gunmetal into it.

With all the stippling in places and the texture built up with all the fine metal particles in the paint a subsequent Soft Tone [sepia] wash picks up all that texture. It also helps unify the highlights, warms it up and makes the shadows matt, leaving the highlights just a little shiny [as it would be].40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-4556287258109972802016-05-18T08:51:35.127+01:002016-05-18T08:51:35.127+01:00That's a good point, I hadn't though of th...That's a good point, I hadn't though of that [files away for later]. They're a bit too big but I'll need room for the Verdigris as well, you don't want to cover all of the shading up. 40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-74837649348301559172016-05-18T00:18:29.647+01:002016-05-18T00:18:29.647+01:00You are doing a really neat job with that blending...You are doing a really neat job with that blending, but I can't take my eyes off the rivets :-) Is there a secret to them or something simple?Marc van Holsthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06111807836610358784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-69369073047358486252016-05-17T13:56:20.705+01:002016-05-17T13:56:20.705+01:00Cheers Benjamin 'progress is progress'.Cheers Benjamin 'progress is progress'.40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-66814229938064091962016-05-17T13:55:42.259+01:002016-05-17T13:55:42.259+01:00It's OK I'm back on the bikes, of course t...It's OK I'm back on the bikes, of course that meant starting to make a Ravenwing Company Master but I quickly binned him off and shaded all but two of the bikers.
