I guess he must have had 4 support, it was OK though, he's the nicest bloke and really patient and funny when I'd point out when a creature had 12 shots or 6 wounds. He never usually takes Whirlwinds but decided to give them a go. It was the negating cover that was their advantage. Every Termagant they hit, they would most likely wound which would mean they were dead. It was a great battle but I think the smaller points will be a focus for a variety of reasons not least finishing at 11:00pm!40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-68783105160151309472012-02-21T23:37:43.717+00:002012-02-21T23:37:43.717+00:002 whirlwinds sounds like a great choice to me when...2 whirlwinds sounds like a great choice to me when fighting nids, guard, tau and eldar/darkeldar. they are sooo cheep. the only reason I don't play them in a normal list is that I prefer to have a list that I want to play VS anyone and whirlwinds come up short most of the time when fighting anything with a 3 or better save. BTW he played 4 heavy support choices? I enjoy these posts so looking forward to more reports when you feel like posting them up :)Turiya64https://www.blogger.com/profile/05473062011802336265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-11352268032136641402012-02-21T23:18:39.442+00:002012-02-21T23:18:39.442+00:00Yeah, when I've done my Dark Angels versus ...Yeah, when I've done my Dark Angels versus 'nids you feel like you get nothing, it's only the power armour that keeps you alive. Just got back from games night and it was 1500pts versus White Scars, with 3 units of bikes [obviously], Vindicator, Predator, 2 Whirlwinds [he took them for a giggle] and 2 Land Speeders. It was a tough game and took a long time to play but a massive contrast to games I've played recently, much more like a GW battle report with ebb and flow. Really enjoyed it but I like the smaller games just because it's quicker and less stressful. Will get a report up when I get chance.40kaddicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763647828123242837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7125294933155144215.post-64095821817199675482012-02-21T22:05:31.859+00:002012-02-21T22:05:31.859+00:00sounds like a fun game to me. your list sounds lik...sounds like a fun game to me. your list sounds like a blast for these smaller games certainly more fun than 2 tactical squads and a hero. as a codex space marines player I feel this is the kind of game we are to one dimensional in. anything larger then a 500 point combat patrols is a blast though!Turiya64https://www.blogger.com/profile/05473062011802336265noreply@blogger.com
