My, my, mycetic spore

Had a game with my mate Ben the other night, made more interesting by an old friend Scott stopping by to show off his ruptured Achilles Tendon. I didn't record the match, something I probably regret now, particularly as I ran a three Spore Pod list!

We called it a draw in the end, it was going to go into turn 6 but it was 1:00am and even though I had most of the objectives Ben had Slay the Warlord, First Blood and a VP from Big Guns. It certainly wasn't impossible for him to get Liebreaker to draw even with me and my secondary objective scores. The real excitement though was he had a bunch of Orks assault my Mycetic Spore and finally it got to mash someone up big style. With hindsight there were some Orks who weren't in base contact who would have got to hit first but it squished two Orks flat before a Nob cut him up with his Power Klaw.

Still, it finally happened so I thought I'd share.

  1. Liking that spore, very good. Reminds me of a giant acorn with tentacles :)

    1. Got the Plasma Hatchers coming up soon. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I like them and I think given the price, availability and damn near exact size they should be given a break considering the glaring absence from GWs product list.

  2. I think it's fantastic that you're celebrating the fact that someone actually charged your pod. It's pretty rare, but I'm fairly sure I've had a spore in combat before (typically with something big, like a dreadnought--who forgets that they can at least Smash). They never do much damage (at least in assault), but it is quite fun.

    1. Well it's been in combat before, it's just never killed anyone. A few time's it's missed outthanks to some figures not in base contact and been killed before it had chance to smash. I think a couple of times it's had it's chance but failed but this time it got two orks before being insta-gibbed.
